My History
My name is Jenny. (Hi!!) I've been designing for about two years (i think...). This is my sixth site. I just closed my old site Saphoric Purity, which was doing well, but I need a fresh start. Before this it was The Obvious, Blue Moon Summer Illusions, Angelic Death, Innocence Anime, and Saphoric Purity. I've also been a staff member on a few sites, including Bliss Graphx, and Aurora Illusions.
So alot have people asked me(when saphoric purity was open): Is saphoric a word??? No. It isn't. There was a layout on either KTD, or one of those really big sites once that was called Seraphic Purity. I meant to call my site that, but I misspelled it, and I have assigned Saphoric a meaning. It means fake, plastic. Fake/Unreal purity. Thats the meaning I have gave my site title.
Site History: This is really the history of my designing. I met my friend Rosa in 6th grade. Basically all we talked about for the first weeks of our friendship was drawing. We tried to start a manga together. Then I got a blog on blogsource and called it The Obvious. It wasn't a blog, so much as a gossip-webbie, but thats what I called it at the time. Blog. Anyway, that didn't work out, people started getting mad at me for it, so I started my first anime graphics website, inspired by Rosa, and named it Blue Moon Summer Illusions. Quite a mouthful. It was on Brave net, and it sucked ASS. Major ass. It was an anime pic fixed in the background, no effects. No css. Just a pic with content over it. Not even a content box. Then Rosa opened a simple, yet pretty graphics website, Aurora Illusions under the alias Roxy (I used to have an alias too. Akita Sasaki. KIT. ^-^). I was impressed, and slightly jealous, so I ditched B.M.S.I. and started Angelic Death. It was better than B.M.S.I. because I was being a major copy-cat. I stole some of Rosa codes (Rosa, if you read this sorry. of course I think you knew it at the time ^-^) And I'd finally gotten photoshop. I managed to make a few decent-looking site layouts, one of them (i don't know how i did it) was so pretty, I considered re-using it on S.P. Angelic Death had a few affiliates, and siblings, but my content wasn't that great, and though my main layout was pretty, my content sucked. Badly. I'm not going to say @$$ (you were expecting me to!) but seriosly, even though lightning struck once, and the first layout I made wasn't ugly, I hadn't grasped the idea of css. or layout making.
I kept Angelic Death up for a few months, changing its name to Innocence Anime after about three months. I tried (and failed) to use tables coding. It was terrible looking, but at the time I was proud of it. (I don't know why. The coding was stolen from Rosa, css and all, and I had shoved an over-sized wallpaper into the header images spot). Towards the begining of 7th grade, my mom started getting mad at me for being on the computer so often. She made me give her my account info, and she deleted my site, and most of my graphics on my computer. Then I didn't start a site for a few months. I tried a few times to start a new site, but failed every single time. I started during the months sept-dec. of that year, to develop better layout/graphic making skills. I still wasn't good, but I didn't flat-out suck anymore. I'm still not actually very good. I started Saphoric Purity, inspired by the layout mentioned above. The layout I started out with was a tribute to the recently closed Aurora Illusions, Rosa's closed site. I used one of her premades as my first layout. It was pretty when you first got on, but only 2 of my links worked. (Jenny pats herself on the back) That was impressive. My site only started to really take shape once I got to version 2.0 If I'm Pure. I got my first affiliate, had ALL my links, no broken ones (congrats Jenny, NOW your a real girl!), and I posted some graphics, because under version 1.0 Twilight Wishes, I had a whopping 5 signs posted. And NO ONE uses signs. They are the most useless and over-made graphics in the graphics-designing world. So many people have them as graphics on theirs sites, and almost none of them are actually good. Also, very few of them actually get used. Alot of people would rather make a crappy layout and sign of their own, and get better, than use someone else who isn't (usually) all that better than themselves. Designs are the most-used of all the pre-made graphics. Them and avatars. If you want to get a measure of someones designing skills, look at their avatars, and their layouts (particularly over-all effect and css). I'm getting way off track. So anyway, I've gotten alot better, in my opinion, although you may disagree with me if you like.
The Person: Whenever I tell people I like anime, they look at me weird. They translate it to mean goth/emo/weird. I am none of those. I am an optimistic, and sometimes hyper person. I'm always smiling =]. I have alot of friends and am good at making them, my bestest friends are Khaler, Marshall, Allison, Rosa, Sarah, Tabby, Lauren, Alex, other Alex, Caitlin etc. I could never choose between them. Never. I beleive in miracles, god and love. But I'm not a phsyco-christian who dislike people who are different. All three of my siblings are atheists. They are them, I am me. They can think whatever they want. I like Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Eminem (yes, someone who actually likes him), and I can pretty much stand any music, those are just a few of the bands/musicians that I like. I am an extremely open-minded person. My definition of wierd? Lets just say this: go to youtube, and search 'Old Gregg'. In my definition of weird thats a little weird. yep. (btw, thats from a really creepy british comedy show called the mighty boosh. don't ask ME why its so weird. it's just british humor. its the british version of mad tv). I play volleyball, run track, play basketball and can (sortof) play soccer. I don't have a boyfriend, because I think most guys my age are dumb asses. I'm above-average intelligence, and the guys all act so dumb! There is only about four to five guys at my school that I would even consider going out with. (lets see...c,d,j,c...g[?]) okay, so 5. But mostly they are annoying and dumb. Can't wait for high school when there will be more people.
My Hobbies: I know I listed the sports I play above, but in addition to that, I play violin, make videos with my friends (to put on youtube), and...well, i can't think of anything else (I'm so boring). I know most of you are getting bored about now. I know you didn't want my biography! I'm going to add a blog/biography page so that I can do this without boring the hell out of people who just read this because they were already bored!!!! (I'm so sorry! Your probably in a stupor now!!!!)
So I doubt any of you actually read ALL of my ramblings. But if you did, congrats! You have a high-tolerance for randomness, and bullshit. I salute you! (looks around and sees no one reading it). Peace Out!!!!
