There's just something there that doesn't seem to fit right. Perhaps it's the background image that's so grunge and techy looking with the mix of the butterflies. I just think it really could have been formulated better, the background that is, to better match the main image. The purple bits on the right hand side is just awkward and the large XOXO just doesn't seem fitting, as they stand out more so than the "Being around you is..."

Although your stylesheet is validated, you seem to be lacking in a good number of styles you could have (or should have) coded. By not coding anything for bold, italic or underline, anyone who ends up using this design will end up with the default styling of those attributes, which makes it seem as if you're just too lazy to add a few more pieces of code. Also, for your header, you chose "Lucida Calligraphy" which is a font not all computers may have. You didn't define a general font family (sans-serif or serif) to the design so if the viewer didn't have that font, it would come put looking like whatever the viewer's default font choice is (mine would be Trebuchet MS). You also have internal styling (in the DIV tag) even though you have an external stylesheet.

You have one image mapped image (your main layout) with a DIV and an iframe within the DIV. It just doesn't make sense having an iframe when you would've turned the DIV into an imitation frame. By doing that, you wouldn't need the iframe code NOR the extra page (main.html). It seems you also attempt to keep your code valid with your first image tag, but afterwards, you began to slack off and just not care. Also, I'm curious as to why, in all previous tags, every attribute is in quotation marks until we get to the inline frame code. All in all, your choice in using an iframe when you could've just used a DIV imitation frame would probably be your downfall in the coding marks.

Your image doesn't match the the background you created for it. With the way the layout is positioned (upper left hand corner), it looks as if it would've suited being a pop up layout better (and I hate pop up layouts). You should've centered your design, at the very least, with a bit of top margin/padding so that the thin black border would be more visible. The XOXO navigation doesn't make sense, as XOXO means "hugs and kisses" and nowhere on your design does it really resemble anything in regards to "hugs and kisses". Your lack of styling the text does absolutely no complimenting to the complex grungy/techy background of the main layout image. I also think your font choices for the site title "Being Around You Is...Wonderful" could have been a lot more appropriate with the overall look and feel of the design as well. Everything on this design was just too big, except what really needed to be bigger, the content box. It also wouldn't have hurt had the image gone a little larger in size.

I liked the original anime image, especially the butterflies. But aside from that, I felt that the rest of the Photoshop work in the image detracts from the beauty of it rather than adds to it. I like how the anime image is positioned sideways; that’s adds a creative touch, and Ai did a good job blending it. But I don’t really like the rest of the layout. I don’t like the text on the image, either.

When I checked the validation, there was only one error, so good job! However, I felt Ai could have been more creative with the CSS, as there really is almost none. The scrollbar color and the font are default.

The coding was good. I liked the image map on the XOXO; it was well done.

Overall: how does it look overall? 5.5
No offense, but I don’t like it that much.

Something about the way you edited the image just seems gritty and unrefined. There are random pixels and splotches of purple in one corner and splotches of gritty red by the peoples head. I think you could have done much better than this.

Plain black text? No images included in your css? read some tutorials will ya? Your css is terrible. Oh, and gray scroll bars. Your css is so plain it really takes away from the layout. You could color the scrollbar, and use an image in your header, and maybe even put a box around your updates and it would look SO much more proffesional. And your links are pure black too. Oh but thats only until you hover, then there is a barely noticeable change to a very, very dark...is that red? With a green and yellow themed layout? I hope not.

okaaaayyy....so you have your iframe inside a div?? You could just do a div and it would have saved you TONS of trouble. The only thing I can commend you on is your image mapping. When I tried that for the first time, I found it al little confusing. Well done on that.

Its not very well made. I don't mean to sound mean, but you really could have done better with more effort.
