The image quality looks extremely low. You can still see a lot of the blurred pixels of the images/text that shows how low quality the images (and text on the images) are. The heart border on the side looks too wide/large and doesn't match the main theme/look & feel of the rest of the layout either. And, Eureka's skin looks as if it's been whited out to the point that she looks deathly ill or ghostly. The fade out could have also been done in a much better/finer manner to make it flow together better.

You have everything coded within a class or id, leaving absolutely nothing for default. It's not bad, but it's also not something you should continue doing. There should always be a default option rather than having everything defined, as that just makes it so you have to code more. Also, even though you have your stylesheet within your HTML file, you're still internally styling a lot of your stuff with the HTML itself. It's a bad coding style. And, your color choices are horrible. Bright red against those shades of blue are blinding. Your links are hard to read, even if they're bolded. The large stripes also makes it extremely harder (as if the blue wasn't enough) to read the site title, even though it's so incredibly massive (which makes me feel  like I'm a blind idiot).

It would seem you've relied on ImageReady to code your entire table layout for you. Then, with just a few adjustments, you switched a few things here and there to "customize" the code ImageReady had spit out for you. I don't consider this "your" coding, so I can't give you a good score here. Plus, your coding is extremely sloppy and difficult to read/understand. If a person new to HTML were to try to use your layout, the HTML code would definitely confuse them. Also, your code isn't valid (even if you say it is). I threw it through the validator and received an error. You may want to check it once more before saying it's valid.

You've got extremely blinding colors. The image quality is extremely low and the overall look and feel of the layout just doesn't sit well together (to me anyway). The fonts are hard to read and the site title's font is way too big. The main image looks as if it was thrown together in a matter of minutes and the glow effect on the main image just makes it look even more awkward. The layer effect (Color Dodge, I'm assuming) makes Eureka look deathly ill or ghostly, which isn't something you should try to do, since the image itself was already bright enough. Overall, the only thing that was really nice was that there was a lot of contrast between the content's background color and font color. < style > tags. You only need to one, especially if you're styling it internally like you are. You also have the BODY section of the stylesheet open twice. You could've (or should have) easily put them all into one. Colored scrollbars also is a feature not supported by all browsers (I'm using Firefox) and causes your code to become invalid. Your links hurt my eyes to read and the fact that your entire content section is centered is extremely annoying. It should be left (or right, but preferably left as I read left to right) aligned. You also specify your fonts (such as Georgia) but you do not specify a general family for it (such as serif) in case the font specified is not available on the viewer's computer. If you don't specify the family, then the font becomes whatever the user's default font choice is (mine would be Trebuchet MS, which is a sans-serif font).

The colors didn’t match very well, and the images looked almost as if they were made in MS Paint.

I didn’t really like it either…

The actual quality of the image is very good, its not gritty or blurry. However, your photoshop skills are very lacking, or are at least not shown very well in this layout. It looks like you cropped a wallpaper, slapped a title on, and added a heart border. I can see a few brushes here and there, I'm not sure if those japanese characters were part of a wallpaper, or if you did that, but I can see that you did use some heart brushes around the people. Just work on your effects!

Your css is very good! Your navigation is done in a pretty, popular, but somewhat common style (though who am i to critisize on that, i use it too). I like your update box also. Oh yeah, and the Site Title Here thing? Very helpful for if someone wanted to use your layout! And it is very easy to read. Nice Job!

Your coding is very neatly written, but instead of having your css right there, I would create a .css file and import it.

The overall effect of you layout is not that great. Your css is good, but the image is really bringing you down. I would suggest spending more time on your header image and just heightening your abilities.
